It has been another busy week at SSC. On the rowing front, erg sessions are going well and Wisemans are pleased to have inspired a visiting member from Aberporth to look at running sessions back at home. In addition to rowing this week, we have been counting sweets into bags of ten ready for the trick or treat trail this Friday. Despite the strict instructions “DO NOT EAT”, many rowers were seen with sweets ‘falling’ into their mouths, and some clearly can't count, as 15 sweets were found in some bags and eight in others. With more recounts than the average general election, the sweets for this year’s Trick or Treat trail are finally counted and bagged ready for delivery to the 10 venues taking part in the trail. The fun begins at 6.30 from Saundersfoot Sports Club with a disco after in the Regency Hall. Tickets are only £3 so bring your your little ones along.

There are some exciting new changes to the WBRC committee following the AGM last Friday. With all positions filled, the next year is looking promising as the enthusiastic new committee members take up their positions under the watchful eye of Simon at the helm.

There was no sailing this weekend due the the tides, but it was a blessing in disguise as Storm Ophelia and Storm Brian make their mark on the Welsh coastline. We have been lucky to escape damage at the club and all boats are still safely tucked up in the dinghy park and harbour. However, the Amroth racing buoy decided to take a holiday to Wisemans Bridge Inn! Octogenarian Terry knew he was in for an adventure when he was asked to go for a walk with son-in-law Mick who told him to bring his trunks, bolt croppers and towel. The photo shows Terry recovering the buoy from the rocks after a long night. Luckily, no bathers were required!

Sailing continues next week with two races beginning at 11.30. I will be away visiting the land of volcanoes and fermented shark so I will hand back over to the Dizzy Rascals for the week. See you in a fortnight!
