Solva Sailing Club is very excited to be welcoming Dee Caffari MBE to speak at their Winter Talk, as part of their Sunsail award. British yachtswoman Dee is the first woman to have sailed single-handed and non-stop around the world in both directions and the only woman to have sailed non-stop around the world three times. In 2006 she became the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, around the world against the prevailing winds and currents and was awarded an MBE in recognition of her achievement.
Dee has earned a reputation as an inspirational and motivational speaker. Her talks have been described as engaging, down to earth and warm-hearted. She is able to draw on her unique world-records in offshore sailing and the many challenges she has faced to achieve high performance in competitive, risky and tough environments. Dee shares her experience, insights and personal lessons learnt in an authentic, memorable and entertaining way.
This is a great chance to listen to a speaker of such renown, and I would be grateful if you could circulate it to your members, and perhaps display the attached poster. This is too good an opportunity to keep to just Solva! Although entry is free, please reserve your place by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org Sunsail will be providing refreshments, and the evening will include a short film of Dee’s achievements and a question and answer session.
